I’m so thankful for my family of empathetic, intelligent, kind people. There will be no angst served up at our house today. I wish this for everyone. The dinner might be thinner, but the love is plentiful.

We’re a family of bakers. The dessert portion of our meal today will be plentiful and delicious. Maybe by Christmas we’ll be ready for protein and vegetables. 😂
Not.

Making rye bread with flour from a Montana mill (Montana Flour and Grains) that was recommended by a friend. I have never had such fluffy rye dough. This flour is like magic. Will post pic when it’s done.

Baking is my happy place. Double chocolate cookies to go in gift packages for far away family. The baking and freezing, then gifting and mailing… it’s a simple thing; comforting and relaxing in these dark times.

Kitty is home after 3 stressful days in the hospital. Another week of recovery and meds, and he should be back to normal.

Fascism is a pretty big failure right now (understatement), so maybe we need to snap out of this horrible bs and try actual Progressivism at last.

My kitty is still in the hospital, but I got to visit him and he’s feeling better. Maybe can come home after an xray this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

It makes me sad that people who are helpers, nurses, medical assistants, hospitality workers, delivery people, etc. are always so surprised when we are kind and grateful to them. Smile and say a kind word. Be nice. Be patient. Appreciate the helpers.

I read The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn as a young woman. The memory of it has re-entered my mind today. I can’t imagine why. 😳

Old Hippie Here. Still very much a part of society. Raised two generations of progressive voters. Not even close to 90.

Someone sent me flowers today, for no reason and totally unexpectedly. It was the loveliest thing that has happened to me in a long time. There are kind people in the world.

Time for Republicans and the other Idiots, to evoke the 25th.

This shit is no joke and not worth the power you think you have because a creepy orange man with dementia made promises.

He'll start WW3 because you all are chickenshit and power hungry.

Clouds and thunder this morning. The gardens are reaching up to the sky with high hopes. Unfortunately, lightning and wind are all we can count on.

In the Tri Cities, WA yesterday. An “accident?” It caused an uproar. The parachute people apologized, sadly.

In this world of woe, a small joy: we ate the first ripe cantaloupe from our vines this morning. It was among the best things I have ever eaten. 🌱
