I always say Marcus doesn’t give a fig about sports but he took the last three Saturdays off to watch the Dons get to, and win, the playoff semi-finals. Now he’s sitting next to me on this plane on a crazy adventure to watch the Dons at Wembley. Think I can finally say it. He’s a proper Don.

None of my friends would describe me as “spontaneous” because that would be wholly inaccurate. The lack of prep time for this trip, the sheer number of people, the unknown of it all. I’m terrified. But life is an adventure meant to be experienced, not observed. Let’s fucking go.

I love the Pig, he scored the first goal I ever saw in person at Kingsmeadow and did a celebration slide right in front of me. But he’s not been his best this year, and nostalgia/loyalty ain’t gonna get us promoted. I hope unavailability tomorrow means we’re bringing in Foyo.

Still can’t believe Marcus wanted to spend our 16th wedding anniversary at an away match. Considering he married a perfectly normal American who’d never seen a football match and had never heard of the Dons, I’m feeling quite loved. Hope the lads repay him with 3 points.
