I think it's also good to mention that we observed n~1 at high water contents (>~0.6%) and at shear stresses below 0.18 MPa. Outside of those bounds, I would expect non-linear behavior.

The Earth absorbs a lot of CO2 every year. Places like the Bahamas and the deep oceans sequester it. The carbon balance of earth was negative until the industrial revolution. It would take a few thousand years, but co2 would fall on its own.

The atmosphere started changing by about 1860, but the exponential nature of increasing emissions really shows up by about the time you're referring to.

Complaining about this is like complaining that the Titanic had too many lifeboats. The lanes need to be 100% safe before they open. You know as soon as an accident happened the editorial would say delays would have been worth it. Also - take the train.
