You know... I like OWA, but after 15+ Distant Worlds I'm honestly a little tired of it myself. It makes the end of the concert feel kind of samey and anticlimactic. I wish they would vary the encore and surprise me once in a while.

I'm glad the job is going well because I need some stability. Outside of work I really don't know what to do with myself. You get used to a routine after enough time, and figuring out a new one is daunting.

Moved again... Less than 8 months after the previous move. This time exiting a very long term relationship. And now, for the first time in my life I'm living alone. At 42. Not sure what to do with that.

I don't have a clear path forward for 2026. Survive, and figure life out all over again.

This year I just gave up. I couldn't manage the grind anymore. I simply don't have the time or patience anymore.

It's either grind for relic, or play the million single player games coming out I'm interested in. I finally broke down and chose the latter, and my mental health skyrocketed.

A shocking amount. Like... Routinely pick shit up off the floor with my feet to avoid bending over, amount. The amount of basic household tasks I do with my feet, especially since I'm barefoot 99% of the time at home, might actually be horrifying. Lol

Quick sheathe is almost a must. Draw skills are nice. Power prolonger and focus are good QoL. Evade window can help people who struggle to time the counters.

After that it's the usual, WEX, agitator, burst stuff.

Randomly came up on my feed but I am always 100% in support of getting a kitty.

Finally getting to leave Meridian and seeing all the little pockets of people trying to survive, while exploring the creepy wasteland just did it for me.

Anyway! Onward to the Soul Reaver 1 and 2 remasters, finally!

Then maybe I break out the PS2 for Defiance? Since that one isn't ported still.

Throw Kain into a weird steampunk city, and give you a chance to stalk the streets as a powerful vampire? Sign me up.

I love the little conversations between the NPCs and the world building, especially in the first half of the game. My favorite level might actually be the canyons though.

I dove into it more this time than I ever did as a kid. Maxed my health and mana, found a bunch of super hidden stuff, and explored a lot deeper.

Also, embarrassingly, this was the first time I'd ever not used the cheat codes for infinite health and mana. 😅 14 year old me found this game HARD!

The job is definitely not boring. It can pivot SUPER hard between incredibly satisfying and wildly stressful, but it's never boring.

Looking forward to seeing where I go in this industry in another year or two.

In the meantime, it's a great excuse to buy all the fancy shoes I want. 😁
