Got the newest Nightwing HC by @tomtaylormade.bsky.social … but why … WHY?!?! did they change the damn DC logo for this last one?!?! I guess Nightwing was jealous of the Vertigo size change next door. #ocd #graphicnovels

Twisters was a prequel to Twister set in a future alternate dimension. Terrible dialogue, bad acting. And I loved It. Bill … er … I mean Tyler is a great character and the rag tag crew was the reason I fell in love Twister. If you can get through the beginning it’s worth the time.

Played Tapestry for the first time last night and I loved it! For some reason I had it in my head that it was a Laukat, but this was very much so a Stegmaier from @stonemaiergames.com. It’s fun when you can feel the designer’s signature in a game. #boardgames

9/ Today we have a great retail space with new and used board games, books, graphic novels, dice, RPGs, puzzles, magnets, posters and statues. And we have a strong community of geeks who get together for all kinds of board games, competitions, pot-lucks, bbqs and we even have a bowling league!

8/ July of 2021 we find our new home! After 13 months of really hard work renovating and decorating we re-open Gamagora in August of 2022. With the reopening there is a shift from just a venue to and with the help of some really dedicated Members from the before times we start to build a community

7/ in November of 2020 we design our own web-store, turn our living room into a mini warehouse and start doing home deliveries. We also start a Discord server for our Members and kick off online gaming tournaments.

6/ 2020 the pandemic hits. We are already outgrowing our space and our lease is up in May so we throw everything in storage knowing we’ll reopen after things settles down. Months pass and the mandates aren’t lifted

5/ In 2018 we open Gamagora Geekhouse! It becomes a venue for people to come and play games. We host learn to plays, birthdays, wedding parties, team building events and other functions. It’s good and we meet a lot of fun people but there’s not a great sense of community.

4/ David and I host a lot of board game nights but our space is just too small. We also run into the problem of how to meet more fun geeks. We were lucky to be surrounded by geeks at work, but people move and grad students graduate and inviting strangers to your home can be awkward

2/ I go away to college and attend my first ComicCon. ‘03 or ‘04 somewhere in there. And I discover there are people like me out there! I continue collecting every Batman title for years, watch every geeky movie and TV show I can get my hands on but I’m very much surrounded by non-geeks.

1/ 1992 is when my Geek Origin Story™️ begins. That year both Batman the Animated Series airs and Batman Returns is released. Elementary/middle school I start writing fanfic. Middle/high school I start collecting comic books.

I appreciate when companies go eco-friendly. But the biodegradable product needs to actually work. The Stonemaier bags are terrible. Maybe these are supposed to be one time use and they are working as intended. But if that’s the case, why have a resealable bags that won’t last long enough to reseal.
