I write/edit books, lover Murder, She Wrote, and use the Oxford comma.
I think I need a break from helping my teen review for the state Algebra 1 test and grading world history papers.

Last night I dreamed I was taking a math test with the following problem: Rationalize the radical in the denominator.

@editsbykristi.bsky.social should like this one--so much easier than the galaxy cake. And I've done several dinosaurs and a Candyland board.

Something fun for today: @authoremmabarry.bsky.social behold the Galaxy Cake.

@authoremmabarry.bsky.social Saw this and thought of your books and posts about retro jello molds. It's not really from the 50s b/c spaghettios weren't a thing until 1965--the things you learn when students choose their own research topics :)

I made king cake.

Wow! 7+ years...so I've chosen MIDDLE for today's (final😢) #FridayKiss. From an unpublished marriage of (in)convenience in 14th-century France.

Today's #FridayKiss is CONFESSION.

Today's #FridayKiss is SQUEEZE. From the manuscript I'm currently revising.

I have something today for #FridayKiss, which is TRADE. From the manuscript I'm revising. He's just brought her lunch at work.

An oldie...Amanda Quick's _Mischief_, 1997. Cover art by Alan Ayers. Love that Quick's name, the title, and the image are all raised.

Me: Hey, no tackling your mom.

9yo: Gotta be tough, mom. This is football.

Here's Catherine Coulter's Magic trilogy from a library sale--note the $0.75 sticker on _Calypso Magic_ and "Withdrawn" stamp from the inside cover of _Moonspun Magic_. I love the consistency of the branding on the covers.

I think I have this!

From my Stephanie Laurens box. Look at past me, putting all the books in a single box (which means one's gone rogue and is likely mixed in with Agatha Christie):

Stephanie Laurens, _Four in Hand_, HQN 1993

A short story for @authoremmabarry.bsky.social & @editsbykristi.bsky.social

I turn to greet a visitor at church, my eyes go up...
Him: I'm really tall.

12yo afterward: other acolytes said a guy here was here who's 8' tall!
Me: Oh, he's only 6'10. He just looked taller b/c he was standing by me.

Here's another (from my study abroad semester): _Die gefangene Braut_, a German translation of Johanna Lindsey's _Captive Bride_.

Began the process of unpacking the boxes of books in the garage & found my historical romance boxes! The collection goes back to high school, and oof, are there some Old Skool finds. I'll post some of them as I go through things. Here's one:

This weeks's #FridayKiss is FUTURE, and I actually have something! From the hockey-mom manuscript I'm currently revising.

A milestone: spouse has passed on an authentic Whalers sweater with fight strap to our 12yo, who was suitably impressed that it was 'legit retro'.

@editsbykristi.bsky.social, @lzats.bsky.social, and the rest of my Minnesota people know what I did today. While wine is not a lefse ingredient, my grandma never made lefse without it...and after making lefse with my kids, I know why.

Well, that's annoying. If you've already set it to full mark-up, try opening the reviewing pane to get the side panel that will show all changes and stats (number of deletions, comments, etc.). It's also searchable. When I delete anchor text, the comment is still in the reviewing pane.

Today's #FridayKiss is TRY. From my WIP:

Julie Garwood's Ransom.

Today's #FridayKiss is WAIT. Apparently I used 'wait' a lot in my WIP, so here's a snippet for every teacher who's ever had to explain how they know a student didn't write their own essay.
