Another LiNoWriMo milestone! I've officially passed the halfway point. I thought the book would be done by now, honestly, but I'm having fun with it again and maybe I'll reach the ending in the next 25,000 words?

Not fair to brand all vampires as 'parasites'. I'm a fair vampire (leave 50% of the blood in the body after feeding) in an area that is full of delicious, warm, pulsing life-blood. I've no quarrel with bad vampires being outed but this type of generalisation is unfair

This is why I suck at posting. All of my thoughts are just slightly longer than the maximum post length. Here's how it would've looked
Basically the same post as above in my original draft: "There's a type of poster on here you'll never see organically. They only appear on your radar when they slither into someone else's mentions like "hmm , methinks I do not agree with your statement vis a vis that people should be paid for their labour" and I strongly believe every one of these people should be killed." It is seventeen characters too long to fit in a single post, hence why I had to chop it up and completely dilute its entire meaning and weaken my overall point because nobody ever clicks through to read the whole thread on here.

I don't want to spam my LiNoWriMo progress every day, but I do want to share when I hit the big milestones and I just hit the first one. Officially past the 10k threshold. One-fifth of the way there!
My homemade LiNoWriMo graph. It shows that I've written 10,022 words in five days, one-fifth of the way to the 50,000-word target. Sorry again for the terrible colours on the graph, I don't know how to change them.

Depends how you define "really good". On the whole though, the million book sales is the better choice. Do you know how much that is in self-publishing terms? I'd be a millionaire after taxes and it's the sort of thing publishers notice, so the book after that would be almost guaranteed a deal

Polanski's success with the Greens and the news out of New York last night does give me a sense of the tide shifting a little bit. Hopefully, this is just the start of more good news and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of it will find its way to the UK

Since we've all rightly turned our backs on NaNoWriMo this year, I built my own word count tracker in Excel. Doing pretty good so far. Nearly 4,000 words written today and not just putting words down for the sake of it either. Actual story progress too
A line graph showing the recommended word count per day, how much I've written, and how many days I have to write it. It's incredibly hard to read because I don't know how to change the colour of the lines yet. But the yellow line is how many words I need to write each day to stay on target, and the orange dot is how much I've written that day. Not ideal colours, especially considering my colour-blindness, and we're only on day one so only a portion of the graph is filled in. But the graph shows that I've written 3889 words today when my target was 1667, so my little dot is higher than the line. So long as I keep this up, I'll be sitting pretty.
