Of those three, the CalTrain tracks is the strongest divider. 101 is a big one, too. However, those north of 101, generally have the same land use concerns as those north of the tracks.

Sunnyvale Redistricting Chair here. The train tracks are a legitimate divider. There are limited crossings and the tracks inhibit community development. El Camino Real is another divider. Fremont Avenue is the general boundary between CUSD and SESD; that makes it a divider, too.

And for those who don't know, the city of Cupertino is named after the school district which predates it by 80+ years. The school district is only 50% in Cupertino and covers parts of Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Saratoga, San Jose, and Santa Clara. It does cover all of Cupertino.

I joined the group claiming that Sunnyvale's election system violated the California Voting Rights Act. We changed the electoral system (by vote, not settlement) to be compliant. A few elections later, city council is majority Asian American.

I raised my children here partially because I wanted my kids to see people like them in positions of prominence and power. There was still some stuff to tear down and in 2019, I had an opportunity to do just that.

I read that article in 2005 when I lived in San Mateo County. It told me that democracy is true in California. It told me that if enough of us moved to an area, we could actually have internationally competitive schools. We moved here in 2006.

Coach youth sports, especially girls' sports. The main thing is to do something that is not primarily about you. Opportunities are everywhere.

155 units on 8.9 acres. That's 17.4 du / acre. This is still low density.

We just had a study session on a development with 242 units on 5.2 acres in Sunnyvale. That's still not high density.

Nice article. If I understand it correctly, you're saying there doesn't need to be a Chinese or Russian conspiracy to weaken the United States, American nationalism is more than up to the task. And you see little to no evidence of a conspiracy. I agree completely with that.

Unfortunately, it's just an extension to file. It isn't an extension to pay.

Most of the sprawl they reference is not in the city of Houston and is zoned by the local municipality.

That 49.0% is for Asian alone. If you go to the American Community Survey 2023 tables, you'll find that 'Asian alone or in combination' is 52.3%.

I'm not worried in Sunnyvale. If this were to happen, Los Altos and/or the more expensive parts of Cupertino are already overrun. 85 and 280 should be good firebreaks. I imagine I have friends from those cities stating with me at that point.

That was my guess, too. We stopped for a bite to eat on the way to the airport and I saw at least six Waymos.

They did that while Biden was president. It's not a comparable situation.
