Here are a few more favorites from Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Knit-Ski retreat at Triple Creek Ranch in February 2025.

Realized I never finished the Seattle/Montana trip, so here’s a pic of me and Royal and the small hoard of sapphires I panned for. A+ would go again.

Yesterday was a lovely preview of spring, but today is another story entirely. It’s dark. Like wicked dark. Like so dark you wouldn’t believe it. Hi Bob.

Back where we started, we hit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery because not only was it full of coffee, it had a full bar. Don’t mind if we do! After filling up on espresso martinis and a boulavardier (with booze poured through coffee!!), we found a diner with some very interesting decor.

Day 3 of J&J go west: a quick coffee at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery (more on that later) near the rental car place before hitting the road to Olympia where we met up with @whosharted.bsky.social at Tumwater Falls. We had a great walk around the park before finding food and a yarn shop.

We finished Day 2 with a massive bowl of pho while a freak thunderstorm blew through.

I could have spent all day here. Outside there is more glass! Our climate in Boston would never permit this, so it was a treat. And running into the twin of the sculpture at the MFA was a pleasant surprise.

Chihuly. All I can say is “wow.” Glass is a craft I’ve always been fascinated with, but as I’m currently surrounded by the tools of my current craft (fiber stash toss in progress), I couldn’t possibly. The Chihuly museum is amazing. Colors, textures, details and happy accidents and I’m here for it.

The we headed back to Pike Place for lunch before my religious experience.
April 13, 2025 at 1:35 PM
At the other end of the monorail, Jill and I checked out the Pike Place market, visited the original Starbucks (this might have been a religious experience for Jill), and then we popped down to the International district to visit a bookstore with the biggest Studio Ghibli collection I’ve ever seen.

Day 2 of Jess & @jillserenity.bsky.social go west: The breakfast bar (seriously - drinks and tourists, and a moose that isn’t quite sure what just happened) and a ride on the monorail.

Limited to 4 photos per post, so here’s Robin.

After all of that, we needed a nap before heading out to dinner. A few blocks away from the hotel we found a great Thai restaurant with an amazing ube Old Fashioned (there is a theme here).

As if that wasn’t enough, there always a whole section of props and costumes from the sci-fi universe. It was almost too much.

And then…! The geeky stuff. Buttercup’s red dress. Gelflings. Darth Vader’s ESB costume. Mork from Ork’s costume. And little Robin, Kermit’s nephew.

And then the music parts. Something about Jimi Hendrix’s handwriting (!!) struck me as absolutely gorgeous.

More on MoPop, because there were things in here I never thought I would get to see and all of them were a pleasant surprise. First, a Keith Haring exhibit that was absolutely beautiful.

Caught up on some sleep and headed out for a bite at Biscuit Bitch in Belltown before wandering over to check out the Space Needle and MoPop. Also met up with a friend of Jill’s (and Shantytowner).

First, my flight was delayed 6 hours due to broken brakes on the plane. In today’s aviation environment, everyone (including tons of young children heading home from school vacation) stayed calm and rolled with it while we waited for a second plane. Landed at 4:15am PST. *yawn*
