This point from @djrothkopf.bsky.social cannot be made too many times. Trump hasn’t “nominated” anyone. He hasn’t changed any policies. He isn’t the president, whatever he’d like you to believe.
The U.S. is suffering from a bad case of premature inauguration. Trump is sending emissaries around the world, attending events, making policy pronouncements like he was already the president. Never seen anything like it. And the response of the media and public is: yawn.
