NC friends, if you don’t currently follow Carolina Forward, you absolutely should! Happy 15th Anniversary to the ACA. Thanks Obama!!!!
Yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare"). For those of you who weren't paying too much attention to the news back in 2010 - we see you! - here's what you need to know, and why the ACA is still so important today.

It’s been estimated that about 400 million people worldwide have had long COVID. For some, Paxlovid can relieve some of the symptoms.

I don’t understand why the president is allowed to spout nonsense about colonizing another country and the 25th amendment isn’t being invoked in addition to all the other horrors this is insane. It’s absolutely insane. It isn’t funny or even weird.

It’s surprising how few people know that some of the first groups targeted by the Nazis were gay & transgender people. The pink triangle, now a symbol of LGBTQ+ resilience, was originally used to mark them in concentration camps. History matters—let’s not forget.
This is how the Nazi pink triangle became a defiant symbol of LGBTQ+ rights
On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz we take a look at the history of the Nazi pink triangle, used to identify gay men.

My kids were so fortunate to grow up during the time that Michelle Obama was our First Lady. Her choice to set boundaries today reminds us there is a limit to the trauma and stress we endure. Let’s carry that energy for the next 4 years so we can keep our communities strong and safe.

Today was a *big* day for the NC Democrats. We filed in federal court to defend and prevent republicans from stealing elections in North Carolina.

This lawsuit is about fighting back. When the people pay attention, we win. So don’t look away, now. We’re just getting started.

Not only does this hurt Helene Recovery, but the power grabs at the state level are horrifying. Our amazing Public State Universities are targeted through various changes in order to reduce liberal arts and progressive programs.
The new "Helene recovery" bill Republicans are passing this week in the NC legislature spends $0 new dollars on Western North Carolina.

WNC residents are crying out for assistance, but Republican leaders are more focused on a political power-grab:

To suggest we should yield even a little to Trump’s odious politics is unacceptable. Even if we did, it would never be enough.
