Visualizing this a different way below. I pulled all the data I could from the Web Archive of the CDC Measles Cases and Outbreaks page. The week of Feb 16th is highlighted to illustrate how much data can lag. An animated GIF of this graph from week to week is here: github.com/gaddb/share/...

Thanks for this. Just a heads up - your description from 59:35-59:51 of the location of the purported HIV "inserts" is incorrect. These sequences are on the surface of spike and "Inserts" 1, 2, & 3 are in the the NTD.

Second, none of these inserts are found together in the same gp120 sequence (note each patient only has one of the inserts; see table). And they appear pretty rare; there are only 18 hits (from 3 diff patients) in a database of over 125,000 gp120 sequences (HIV-1 only).

First, Pradhan et al. mistakenly mapped Insert/Motif 3 to Variable Loop 1 based on alignment with an incomplete sequence they assumed was full-length. Instead, Insert 3 is in the hypervariable region of Variable Loop 4, and overlaps with Insert 1 (see alignments).
