In a city where 3.6 million people ride the subway every day, “I am scared to ride the subway” does not make you sound like a strong leader.
Andrew Cuomo going on Fox News to accuse Zohran Mamdani of caring about “woke issues” and talk about how much he’s scared of the subway seems like a pretty clear sign that he has abandoned the Democratic Party.

Why do I pay all these taxes just so the MTA can take over an hour to transport me 9 miles (thus causing me to be very late picking my son up from daycare)? Why do we still have signal problems gumming up the whole subway system in the year 2025?

The reason our society is at a breaking point is there’s no longer a penalty for government officials (Republicans) who lie. Lie to Congress during your confirmation hearing, lie to the public about a piece of legislation, lie during the campaign about what you will or won’t do—none of it matters.
