The journalist we need
"In extraordinary moments such as this, too many journalists behave as if they have more in common with billionaires destroying journalism than the 80 or so people killed in Venezuela by Trump’s airstrikes. If we’ve learned anything this past year, it’s that proximity to power does not equal power."
Call Trump's power grab in Venezuela what it is
Corporate media must recognize they're being openly lied to—and report accordingly.

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.

They were just saying, "Thank you it's not me getting arrested in this authoritarian state," as opposed to thanking them for their service.
Bondi: "Our law enforcement officers are telling us that people are coming up to them on the street, they said a lot of people are walking by, whispering, saying 'thank you thank you thank you.'"

Feels like "payment processor Stripe admits to being an anti LGBTQ hate group" should be an actual headline somewhere.
and to be clear, i was very clear in asking "can i use stripe for purchases of LGBT content" and both times, different operators have told me that Stripe does not support such transactions

theyre not even playing the "oh our brand doesnt discriminate!" song and dance

Took the missus out on a late night date/walk through the second largest cemetery in the state last night. We enjoyed having the 100 acres all to ourselves as we padded silently from shadow to shadow. No we didn't avoid "where is civil society heading?" musings. Yes we felt removed from society.
