Sports Integrity Commission Te Kahu Raunui (legally, Integrity Sport and Recreation Commission) launched today, replacing Drug Free Sport New Zealand.

Toka Tū Ake – Natural Hazards Commission is the new name for Earthquake Commission (EQC) today, with the Natural Hazards Insurance Act 2023 coming into force.

Toka Tū Ake administers the Natural Hazard Fund (formerly Natural Disaster Fund) and their insurance product NHCover (formerly EQCover).

Ministry for Regulation was established on 1 March but still has no website. If you know an email address for this agency, or any person in this agency, please let us know.

In the interim, we will send OIA requests for Ministry of Regulation to the Public Service Commission to pass on.

Since the names of public agencies is a hot topic, it's a good time to explain our approach to agency names on FYI.org.nz.

We always use the official legal name of the agency as the main name from whatever law or register establishes the agency.
