Hi Bluesky 🏞️ I'm currently researching the relationship between mysticism and socialism around 1900, examining the works of Gustav Landauer and Hugo Ball in particular.
Over breakfast I thought about how I enjoyed „surfing the web“ as a kid/teenager. Just browsing through websites, discovering and learning about new things. But today my (personal, not work-related) internet use has changed: it is largely dominated by (doom) scrolling single websites. 1/6

Today was my last day as a part-time cemetery gardener. Now I’m working full-time in academia (although my contract says 2/3, but that’s just a formalia of course…)

Just went last week to my local library (not the university but the city library) and came home with soooo many great books on art and fashion. So yeah, protect public libraries from being defunded!

Just cancelled several subscriptions I wasn’t using enough. After my visit to the local library last week and having a look at its massive collection of CDs I’m also considering cancelling my Spotify-subscription.

Someone took issue with me saying that American male Protestants are unique in how they've removed themselves from aesthetics. I thought it was obvs that I'm talking about fashion and interior decor, which today are coded as "gay interests," not paintings or architecture.
