Happy Summer Solstice! 🌞
We’re daydreaming about all the fresh produce at our local farmer’s markets, provided by local family farms.
Farmer’s markets are the perfect example of what a thriving, connected local community can look like, and a great chance to see where your food comes from.

ICYMI - We’ve filed a legal appeal to challenge Kitsap County’s comprehensive plan. Why and what does it mean?

State law requires cities and counties to better plan for land use and population growth.

We believe that Kitsap County's 2024 comp plan falls short of those requirements. 🧵

What’s your favorite way to get around town? 🚎🚌

We made Jazmine from our team pick just one:
“My favorite transit, if I absolutely must pick a favorite, is the classic last mile solution that is the monorail: connecting my front door to the downtown core and the city center to the Seattle Center!”

Here’s a snapshot of housing built over time, broken down by VMT– Despite changing development and neighborhood design trends over the decades, Seattle has maintained a majority of new builds in lower-VMT areas
May 29, 2025 at 8:46 PM
But now, onto some of the research results–
🏙️ Seattle falls into a category of “Very Low VMT” city alongside cities like Portland and Baltimore.

🏡 And a majority (62%) of Seattle’s new housing built between 2001-2019 was built in lower VMT areas

It's official! HB 1135 has been signed into law!
This law will help close loopholes in the state's Growth Management Act, and make sure that all counties adhere to the same guidelines- this just means better community and land use planning for our neighborhoods! 🏡
