FunFactFriday: Rare Earth elements (REE) are a group of 17 elements. Magnets use REEs such as neodymium & are used in medical tools such as MRI machines. REE permanent magnets are key to clean energy technology and are needed in wind turbines & electric cars. #RareEarths #CriticalMinerals

Fun fact: Indium is a soft metal that will make a high-pitched crackling sound when bent, which sounds a bit like wood burning on a log fire! It is caused by crystal twinning. #indium ‘s biggest producer, China, just announced export embargoes on this & 4 other materials. ➡️ www.futureismine.co.uk

⭐️Fun Fact Friday ⭐️ Tungsten is named after the Swedish word for “ heavy stone”. Dense & hard, it also has the highest melting point of any metal. Nearly 3 X hotter than lava! Tungsten is used in a wide variety of applications that benefit from these properties such as hardmetal tools & drill heads.

It’s Fun Fact Friday here at Future Is Mine, and today we are talking about vanadium. Fun fact: vanadium is named after the Norse goddess Vanadis, also known as Freya. Vanadium is an important ingredient in steel making it stronger. It is also used in aerospace alloys with titanium. #vanadium #FIM
