I might be a bit late to the party but I have just listened to @zackpolanski.bsky.social speech to the Green Party conference, and for the first time in years I feel a hope for the future, of our country, our kids. Zack really understands the issues our country faces, without the call for division

The authoritarian Starmer is at it again legitimising Farage and also using this as an excuse to roll out mandatory ID cards another authoritarian move.

‘This is about whether or not we treat people who migrate to this country with compassion.’

@natashadevon.bsky.social responds to Keir Starmer’s assertion that left-wing politicians have been ‘squeamish’ when addressing illegal migration.

1,600,000 signatures on the second day after it was announced, people really don’t want #digitalID, is this a sign that Starmer is out of touch and must go! Yes I think so! Do you?

Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is absolutely right, Immigration is not the issue everyone thinks it is, inequality is!

Inequality is causing the cost of living crisis, the housing crisis.

#TaxWealthNotWork
Starmer says past governments have been "squeamish" talking about immigration. Bullshit.

Starmer isn't bravely breaking a taboo. He's blaming vulnerable people & deflecting attention from the super rich who hoard power & wealth.

It really annoys me when these Labour MPs write misleading statements - like the MP for Southend here write “every child” but the reality is that only for parents who earn £9518, if your disabled or ill and can’t work then your child won’t be allowed this help

🇬🇧 Tax cuts didn't lead to a better Britain, but a more unequal one.

The myth of lowering taxes on the wealthy benefits everyone has been debunked over the last 80 years.

High taxa of post-war funded the NHS and reduced inequality, Thatcher’s cuts fuelled the wealth gap, history shows a pattern.

The rate this is going, as a millennial I will be getting my state pension when I’m 80 if I’m lucky to live that long of course.

We really are the forgotten generation aren’t we!

For a party that thinks the issues we have as a country solely revolve around the country being poorly managed and by managing it better will make everything good again, they are putting a lot of trust back into the every sector that kill the economy because of poor management and poor regulation

Even the government admits that £5.5B was lost in the year 22 to 23 due to tax evasion which is just an estimate.

The rich need to pay their share if they don’t all services provided by the government will go
IT’S A TRULY PATHETIC SIGHT!
To witness a #Labour government fighting to reduce benefits for the disabled while wealth remains seriously undertaxed,
Outrageous that it accepts £100bn of Brexit costs and fails to collect £46bn of taxes due because HMRC is understaffed.

Same old story in Westminster, nothing has changed. The widening gap of inequality between rich and poor is what’s damaging our country and a traditional Labour Party would see that, but this Labour government has more in common with the conservatives.

Reeves expected to freeze income tax thresholds to raise funds after welfare U-turn. Why blame the poor?

Govt has numerous choices:
Tax capital gains, dividends at the same rate as wages
Reduce pension tax relief to the ultra rich
Increase NIC for ultra-rich.

Kinnock on LBC “we were elected on a mandate for change, we inherited a broken benefits system, we plan to change Britain for the better”

But these changes won’t fix anything, they are austerity measure in order to balance the budget. They will brake hundreds of thousands lives if voted through.

Changes to PIP would bring in 4Bn but tackling Tax evasion would bring in over 5.5Bn.

I suppose it’s easier to take from the poor and vulnerable.
