Have you ever seen a blander line-up? It’s like the Festival of Brexit all over again.

Is it just me or is this headline insane?

Despite??? Were we supposed to just move on from his hithero unpunished nonceing because he performatively dropped his Duke-dom?

Finally, we decided to eschew an early night and headed back to the main stage for headliners Cave In who did everything they could to make me love them. On any other night they would’ve succeeded too but, after the ferocity that preceded them, their straight af emo-rock felt misplaced.

Over to Core.’s third stage at The Hug & Pint for THE find of the day. Picked on a whim earlier in the morning, Death Goals were incredible. The queercore outfit SLAYED the tiny room. Never heard a two-piece sound sooo huge.

Frontierer’s NU-nu-metal was another highlight in a day full of highlights. They put on a real show with band members everywhere, kicking the living fuck out of their instruments, trying to rip a hole in the space/time continuum. Maybe sounded a bit more conventional than on record but still huge.

HIRS Collective, who I saw supporting Chat Pile a few months back but, still, the 15 minutes splicing of hardcore & chart-pop samples we witnessed were exhilarating.

Back down for Agriculture. Self-described as ‘Ecstatic Black Metal’, which pretty much nails them, tbh. First true ‘Holy Fuck!’ band of the day. Signed vinyl & t-shirt scored immediately afterwards, though it left us late for…

Back upstairs, highlanders Shutter demonstrated that when you put the ROCK back into post-rock you tend to end up with mere instrumental rock. Borrowed plenty from Mogwai & Part Chimp. Fucking loud though, so props for that.

Then off to the main stage for main stage openers Ashenspire who, a couple of sound issues aside, were in great form. Passionate jazz-hued pseudo-metal. Can’t wait for their stuff.

Core. Festival ‘25 (Sunday), Glasgow. ‘A Celebration Of Noise.’.

Got there earlier than expected so checked out local melodic hardcore band No Kilter on the second stage. Loud & bouncy. A decent start to the day.

Yeah, it’s gonna be a tough day (on my ears 😂)

I could’ve sworn he was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Without even taking into account the cunts he’s trying appeal to, he’s done this far too often.

Off to this in sunny (as fuck) Cangas tonight. Excited to see Discharge, the rest… um, not so much but I’m always open to pleasant surprises.

This is mostly true but I’d argue that “good sex”, to them, is THEIR sex, THEIR adultery, THEIR kinks, THEIR perversions and THEIR depravity, all whilst they ruin everyone else’s fun.

Because hypocrisy is a virtue to fascists.

I actually looked it up. NYT weren’t wrong but I, along with the rest of the internet, assumed they’d made it up.
