Danielle Smith came to power in October 2022 and has spent the last three years trying to right the wrongs of Alberta's COVID response. I would put regulating professional associations under that label, even if the government had additional motivations (ie., Jordan Peterson). 4/5

However, I think this is also about COVID-19. Both the Manning and Davidson panels recommended restricting the disciplinary power of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta because of perceived actions that the CPSA took against doctors. This is from the Manning panel 2/5

This leads to more burnout, more sick call, more staffing shortages, and is unsustainable...

Why ABs should care? It leads to more and more Red Alerts/Critical Alerts where there simply is NO EMS available to respond to the next emergency.

We used to do so much better...
