Here's the point: This ultimately isn't about Palestine Action. This is about innocent protestors (often old and disabled), being arrested for peacefully holding up signs that contain the words "Palestine" and "Action" in them. Those who can't see the problem with that don't belong in government.

HSBC CEO has joined a growing chorus of bankers cautioning Rachel Reeves against increasing taxes on banks.

Govt's £100bn price for nationalising England water is bogus

£100bn calculated by OFWAT: Value at privatisation X annual rate of inflation + investment; repeated each year. The answer does not represent any value.

On this basis a car bought for £10k in 1989 would have £50k value.

Ofwat proposes that Anglian Water pays £62.8m for sewage dumping.

£57m forced investment in infrastructure + £5.8m in local environment. It should do that anyway.

Will improve its balance sheet, future returns.

There is no penalty, akin to a motorist injuring people, fined but money handed back.
