I am genuinely hoping Tsukishima will have more of a role outside of him fixing the sword. The guy genuinely could be a massive help during the final fight, same goes for Orihime

While Urahara hides most of his true intentions behind a facade, a trait he shares with Aizen even though Aizen gets rid of his mask eventually.
But all three of them have on thing in common, I believe - their darker side/self is partially expressed in taking autonomy from other characters.

Also I think all of Kubo's scientist-type character share this trait of being of questionable morality, both Urahara and Aizen fit easily into this. But Mayuri's main schtick is that he isn't trying to hide his inner monster, he relishes in it and 100% knows who he is and what he desires most.

Mayuri's a very interesting character specifically because he's an awful person to his very core, but he's also extremely vital to Soul Society's survival

I mean, he's been clutching TYBW to the very end, while also committing every war crime possible 😭
