I figured it was something like that. Smells a lot like the music industry where small indie shops can't / don't sell enough for the big labels to care so they have source their product from elsewhere at higher prices which then reduces their profit margins.

Because I'm ignorant of so many things, why would it be devastating to repertory theaters? Is it not making content available to you, hiking prices, something else, all of those things?

Unclaimed bonus points for "now feck off!" when they left?

Also: I wonder if the lady who was sitting next to my son for the first half realized that the break was an interval and not the end. She wasn't there for the second half…

It might push them to move from Apple to Patreon and give you an income boost. It's totally fine that Apple doesn't support your business model—that's their loss :)

Thanks for hopefully listening. Keep up the good work and please don't take away Drop Us A Line from the Apple sub!

That's definitely one of those "technically the truth" things that rankle (well, rankle me, at least). Explicitly mentioning that Apple users are on the lowest rung of membership would be honest and also useful for people who have Apple sub renewals coming up…

Thanks for the reply! This change is annoying as someone who has just renewed their annual Apple sub. Not being explicit about this on the show feels a bit disingenuous, especially in Ep 606 where James said "if you're already on club fish, don't worry everything will stay the same"…

Can you say if it’ll land in stable before next year’s Safari 27? Getting Safari stable on the same update cadence as Firefox and Chromium would be a massive win.

Clinton Street for me this weekend. They’re showing a couple of small, new, films in their horror season. Scrolling through your site, there’s very slim pickings for new films.

well, not the user preferences part, more the low contrast part.

Well, consider my hopes somewhat back up!

If you have a Windows machine, try this with Windows Contrast Themes turned on: codepen.io/fstrr/pen/yy...

If you don't have a Windows machine, it's basically your "cursed second button" example. I worked around it with forced-color-adjust, so there's that
test for Chromium on Windows support for mark and marktext

"like cloves in biryani" is the best thing I've read in months :)

(I submitted a forced-colors Chromium bug in July for mark and marktext. Sounds like I shouldn't get my hopes up for a quick fix as it's backplate related)

Shot in Portland? Well, that sounds like I need to update this wikipedia page again sometime soon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_shot_in_Oregon?wprov=sfti1
