needed some help from GPT, especially toward the end. Now, everything works as intended. Data is being loaded (if not already present), saved in SwiftData, and displayed in my UI. Subsequent launches no longer require reloading the data from the internet, just as planned.

Thanks mate :)

Overall, I was initially daunted by the idea of working with SwiftData because I assumed it would escalate quickly in complexity. And while there’s certainly a lot to master, it has come much more easily to me than I expected.

Functionally, a lot is already working; now it's all about presenting the data effectively while also implementing some ideas that have been swirling around in my head

4/4🧵
More features will come as I grow more confident in self-studying new concepts. I’ll focus on this for the rest of the week before returning to the regular 100 Days of SwiftUI.

3/4🧵
Though I’ve had to refer back to my notes and code from those projects quite a bit so far, I’ve made decent progress. There’s still a long to-do list, some tasks more daunting than others. Once I nail the core features, it’ll essentially be a fancier version of Bookworm.

2/4🧵
My two main goals are:
1. Learning how to build an app based on my own (heavily inspired) ideas and adapting existing code to fit my needs, instead of following instructions.

2. Gaining more confidence in creating my own projects.
