I know this is a contentious issue, and I’m really not trying to say anything about it, just the arguments presented! I think it’s worth examining the idea that piracy “hurt[s] the author” when financial compensation isn’t the issue, or at least it needs better explanation

If you read Shonen Jump weekly, you inevitably see your darlings cut down too soon, and it’ll break your heart. The worst of that for me was PPPPPP. I was absolutely devastated when it ended. It’s such a special series, even though its story got cut short.
