A Frogs Gent. Aspiring programmer of neat things.
Apologies if it's unusual for me to say this, but I hope you're able to feel better soon.

The brain is a tricky beast at times.

Even beyond the dubious science, trying to turn Babies into Products seems like a road to nowhere good.

That is, if you wanted to factor "control" into it, rather than just "my word, she is bad at her job".
December 27, 2025 at 3:19 AM
Also, at the risk of giving this more thought than it deserves, I'm pretty sure the specific problem in this instance is not that Bari Weiss "refuses to be controlled", but that she's controlled all too easily.

Some people need to learn that you can simply Not Like Something. There doesn't need to be a fancy intellectual reason for that. You can just Not Like It.

"Trying to do a job she is highly skilled at" is very [citation needed]

Armed mobs beholden to no external authority have very famously never ended poorly.

Also, I wonder if this person understands that Posting About Their Plan to set "cop shops" on fire is *definitely* shouting "outside agitators!" loud enough for the police to hear.

Fiction writers talking about the awesome and liberating power of Literature feels like it often runs the risk of sounding extremely self-indulgent, if I'm being honest.

A fun game you can play is looking at which red states receive more in federal funding than they give back in taxes.

It's not a short list, if memory serves.

Yeah, my brother made use of this. It's a good system. More people should know about it!
December 26, 2025 at 5:27 PM
In his view, if you could make a system where people don't have to do physical labor to keep society moving and you make them do it anyways, then you're actively doing wrong.

Basically, he was in favor of Automation (via Skeletons).
December 26, 2025 at 5:14 PM
I once made a D&D character in a modern-esque setting who was a necromancer who worked for a "magic consulting" firm, who affirmatively believed in the Social Good Of Necromancy, because you could have a Skeleton Army doing the physical labor while the living can do More Interesting Work.

Accusing others of sexism while reducing the professional accomplishments of Taylor Swift to just being "a beautiful woman" seems Dubious, from a rhetorical standpoint.
December 26, 2025 at 3:29 PM
"What if I made the facade of conformity... even more of a facade???"

At that point they're basically admitting the goal isn't "preserving cherished memories", but "advertising the Lifestyle Brand." Seems like a sad way to live.

People do that? Assigning conscious intentionality to an Economic System seems like a good way to misunderstand that Economic System.

Of course, creationism itself could be understood as assigning a literal interpretation to the Biblical creation story, so par for the course, I suppose.

That could be it. Still, feels weird to accuse someone of hypocrisy in that context.

A person who places a high level of importance on Always Clean Dishes might not be a good romantic fit for someone who Does Not.

I say this as someone with a lot of dirty dishes right now.
December 26, 2025 at 5:10 AM
They say "this is one of those moments where people who talk about mental health solidarity go full mask off" but then imply that the desire for clean dishes is.... "perfect OCD hygiene"? I'm getting mixed signals here.

This is a Good Quote, but I also think it specifically works well in the context of the story, given that belief is shown to be a tangible force with actual effects on the Disc.

Belief in justice (perhaps quite literally) makes justice possible.

I know the attendant probably isn't a butler but I imagine them as a butler.
December 25, 2025 at 3:11 PM
I see. Truly people in the past contained multitudes. And some of those multitudes sucked.
December 25, 2025 at 2:07 PM
That sounds like quite possibly the worst idea for a social media feature a person could possible have. At the very least in the top 5.

Based on totally cursory observation, Akechi seems like a jerk.

I don't have any insight, I just don't like his vibe.

I've never been a big Persona fellow, but I do think it's a little odd that Persona 5 has no gay romance options when Persona 2: Innocent Sin had one all the way back in the PS1 era.
December 25, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Yeah I greatly appreciate when narratives depict religious people as actual Three-Dimensional Characters who Think About Stuff and have perspectives it make sense for a person to actually have.
