This means sentient AIs are not allowed, and nonhuman entities (of which there are many in the Outskirts beyond the City) are forbidden as well.
Though what is considered human might seem a bit.... unusual. For example, this guy? Totally human.

For an actual in-story example, a character steals hair salon coupons from a high-ranking member, and the punishment for this is exterminating both the perpetrator and all of his associates.

Another thing that can help, at least for me, is thinking about it in problem-solving terms. "Does hating myself help me resolve the thing about myself I want to resolve? Or does it simply trap me in the Doom Spiral?"
