Which isn’t to say blind people don’t enjoy life or to be ableist. But I couldn’t even do my job anymore if this happens in both eyes. I just bought a house in April, how will I support myself? To have to come to work and put on my brave face to everybody is killing me inside.

On my own. The thought of possibly never being able to read visually, or drive, or watch tv, or see art enough to know what I’m creating, or do things on my own when I’ve been able to see all of my life is very terrifying. Knowing I haven’t been able to rely on people for help doubles that fear.
