This opens more of Pandora’s box regarding how the league and their owners treat players. Which also goes back to what they are fighting for in their new CBA contracts. (Revenue shares, expansion of rosters, increased salaries, more.)

Yes, the Sky are the ones doing this to Angel. I was making a point as a whole that like the Sky the ENTIRE league (all franchises) needs to do better with creating a culture that allows these women to be transparent without having to face harassment and backlash.

***- means players who won 2x finals MVP plus MVP.

**- means players who won 2x MVP
*- means players who won either finals MVP or MVP

Again there are a lot of players who LEFT the sky.

But if you haven’t already notice all of them won championships on other teams besides Kah Copper.

Also Julia, why do you think she will even stay till 2027 when her contract is up? After all of this, no I don’t think she will. Too many players left CHICAGO SKY because of so many issues.

Examples:
Sylvia Fowles -🏆🏆🏀***, 🥇🥇🥇🥇
Candace Dupree- 🏆🏀
Elena Delle Done -🏀🏆**,🥇
Kahleah Copper-🏆🏀*, 🥇

But it goes back to my point more conversations NEED to happen on transparency without judgment and backlash for women especially in sports. Advocacy for all to be respected by the media and their organizations. To be honest this only exemplifies a toxic work environment for her. Which isn’t okay.

This is a societal issue as a whole. That is why advocacy for better treatment of ALL players in women’s professional sports is crucial. We need to create a culture of transparency for them to disclose without backlash and judgement.
Angel deserves better by all that’s treating her this way.

Yep and you wonder why Angel said “it’s not the message but the messenger”. If it was someone else like CC or Stewie it wouldn’t be frowned upon. BUT when it’s her it’s looked at as she’s the bad and “toxic”. This alone also exemplifies racial biases, marginalization, micro-aggressions, and more.

I understand the importance in transparency of the situation. It is important that players can have a safe space to share their feelings/ transparency. But to do this there needs to be establishment of a culture in general for that to happen. Women in sports deserved to be appropriately paid.

I find it so double standard and marginalizing that it’s okay for Stewie to call out her team. However when it’s Angel expressing her feelings on the organization/ free agency to build for success it’s frowned upon. Why should she be held accountable? The Sky and Jeff screwed up in so many ways.

Why did you post this publication knowing this could cause problems for her? Why now? Why couldn’t you have waited until her season was over to post it? Angel deserves to be with a franchise that will respect her as a player. Sounds very crappy they were there and were aware of this article.
