Just an old playing video games. Mostly otomes, rpgs and cozy stuff. Obsessed with Touken Ranbu.
She was the sweetest most loving dog. My little velcro baby. I quite literally lived for her. My entire day revolved around her care and well being. To say I'm devastated is an understatement.

The Lola N/S is on my short list so I appreciate the feedback! 😊

Next step will be a 24 hour ph monitoring test which sounds like a nightmare. They thread a catheter through your nose and dangle it down your throat/esophagus to monitor how much actual acid is splashing around. I'm gagging at the very thought of this torture.

Currently trying a high dose PPI for 6 weeks. It's currently not helping even remotely. I actually feel the worst I've felt in weeks right now.

Doc didn't visually see anything especially concerning or damaged but did take biopsies. It's wild that after 5 months of 24/7 severe acid reflux that my esophagus wasn't absolutely trashed.

Everytime there's a blip in her health I can't help but fear I'm looking at the end of our time together. It's a nightmare.

The trouble now is wondering if this early morning vomiting is the sign of a flare up of her regular issues or if it's a sign her cancer has progressed.

Before the cancer my dog already had 2 difficult chronic diseases. IBD and canine intestinal lymphangiectasia. We had them mostly managed with occasional flare ups here and there.

And fellow AFABs, if you think you're having a heart attack say you are having chest pain even if you aren't. The ER will be more likely to run an EKG and tests if you say that. Also push to have your blood tested for troponin. That was the test that spurred everyone into action for my dad.

The takeaway from his story is don't wait. Don't wait, don't wait, don't wait. If you feel even remotely feel off, get help. If he had waited any longer he'd have died. As it is, waiting so long severely weakened his heart more than if he had gotten help right away.

It's wild to think he nearly died less than a week ago and now he's back home playing World of Warcraft like nothing happened. Marvels of modern medicine.

Within probably less than 2 hours he was being wheeled back for an angioplasty. He had a 99% blockage in what they call the widowmaker artery. 2 stents later he's back home. His heart is very weak but expected to recover.

Most dogs are gone within weeks of diagnosis and we don't want her last remaining days to be miserable from treatments and risky surgeries. Instead we are going on lots of walks and doing lots of cuddling which are her favorite things in the world. And I'm trying my best to stay upbeat for her. 💔
