Thanks to the help of so many people, we were able to plant 300 native hedging plants this morning! We're hoping that in a few years there will be a beautiful hedge full of wildlife, screening the busy road.

We can't wait to plant new native hedges in Friary Park. Hawthorn, Hazel and Guelder Rose will support a wide range of insects and other wildlife, and create a barrier against noise and air pollution from the busy roads beside the park. Bring your spades and your friends along, we'd love your help!

Solitary bumblebee enjoying the new plants, even in mid-November! This time last year, this large flowerbed was bare soil. Thanks to all the volunteers and to Barnet Council and Finchley Pollinators it's coming back to life
