Today, I shall celebrate the first time I bruised someone's fragile ego enough for them to put me on a maliciously-intended blocklist. By putting them on a blocklist made for bad-faith blocklisters, no less.

(e.g. TERF lists with trans people added)" the user in question has apparently added me to this blocklist in retaliation for adding her to my "Pants on fire" blocklist, which ACCURATELY includes actual malicious blocklisters, thereby proving my point.

This one's a bit of a late addition, but here's the inspiration behind Buluqha's outfit. (slight elaboration in the alt text)
a screenshot from Figure 18.9 (Textile patterns and costumes of the North) from Chapter 18 ("Northern Material Culture" by Shing Müller) of Volume 2 of the Cambridge History of China, containing various illustrations of traditional xianbei clothing as depicted in art from the northern/tuoba wei and northern qi dynasties. a zoomed-in section of a compilation of contemporary depictions of tuoba wei-era xianbei clothing made by @peekofhistory, showing a mural depicting a procession of tuoba wei nobles dressed in robes somewhat reminiscent of the modern deel, trousers, and (for some) cloaks, all adapted for the climate of the mongolian steppe. the caption reads: "North Wei nobles travelling mural" (this mural makes up the majority of the inspiration behind buluqha's outfit.) a northern wei mural of xianbei nobles dressed in hanfu-style robes colored red and white. this was the inspiration for the color scheme of buluqha's outfit. an illustration of ming-dynasty pi jia 皮甲 (leather/hide) armor from the wu bei yao lue《武備要略》, a military treatise containing woodblock prints of armor, weaponry, and archery techniques. while this one may seem like an odd one out amongst the northern wei inspirations, it was chosen to reflect the main era by which my take on shou long was technologically, culturally, and geopolitically inspired (the transition from ming to qing; some inspirations from the three kingdoms and northern & southern dynasties are also present).

a digitally colored drawing of khirbuk buluqha (surname written first), a rogue/bard based primarily on toroi bandi (a mongolian robin hood-esque folk hero) and hailing from the northern shou province of chukei (~anbei protectorate; inhabited chiefly by nomads based on the xianbei). personality wise, she resembles robin hood and aladdin (both specifically the disney versions), with just a slight bit of edge: clever, charming, and kind-hearted, she tries to hold on to hope and provide it for others, though she is fully aware of how cruel the world can be. she is, however, quite insecure and has anger issues from her fantasy racism-related trauma. not too unlike her IRL inspiration (see above), she was born into a common family and orphaned in the wake of the ambanulchi (~jurchen/manchu) invasion of chukei, after which she went to study in a local academy in/near the provincial capital of zhaoyang. she was also bullied and shunned there for being a tiefling, and after killing one of her bullies in self defense as he was about to beat her up, she dropped out, fled, and joined a thieves' guild. (i'm still working on her backstory after this bit)

12. Well... Marina (the character mentioned in question #1) DID die in her backstory after rescuing her friend (also a detailed OC of mine) from drowning after she got stuck in some lake weeds. It didn't last, though; she got better after being isekai'd in the first of many multiversal shenanigans.

9. I have relatively few villain OCs and even fewer active ones, but one of my favorite current ones is Ashaklun, the Copper Fiend of Tros. He's a rogue archdevil and more or less a classic Disney villain (think Hades or Ursula): cunning, ruthless, prideful, and more than a bit sassy.

A flag for the Republic of Tu Long, a future version of the southern nation of Tu Long following a political revolution in a version of Toril set five centuries after the main 5e era (1490s DR).

the flag of the republic of tu long, a political entity in my own version of a far-future 20th century esque toril (made mostly for my own short stories and a potential campaign if i ever try my hand at DMing). the crimson background represents the cardinal direction of south (as tu long is, well, in the south), and the thin blue-green bands near the top and bottom of the flag represent the hope of prosperity for the republic. (the color choices were made in accordance with chinese color symbolism.) in the middle of the flag is the seal script version of the character 荼, short for 荼弄 ("thistle circuit", which is the meaning that we chose for tulong because the canon meaning of 土龍 "earth dragon" is really fucking stupid ngl). tl;dr of the lore: while the later lei dynasty (starting in the early 1500s) had a pretty strong start with the reformist emperor wei jiahua, his descendants eventually grew corrupt and/or incompetent over the centuries and lost the mandate of heaven, and the people got sick of it and rebelled. instead of founding yet another dynasty, though, they formed a democratic government. (a possible plot hook might be navigating political intrigue to root out corruption and deal with internal threats to the republic while the militaristic heng dynasty of shou long (imagine kuvira's earth empire, but written better) threatens its borders.)

8. My favorite OC ship is a semi-canon ship which I've dubbed AnhLynn between Anh Loan (mentioned above) and Amalynn, a redeemed ex-Zhentarim rogue from western Faerûn with a dark past and plenty of resulting inner demons who turned to Robin Hood-style heroics to atone for her past crimes.
