New Mexico put a ban on municipalities enacting rent control. Also Rent freeze kicks the burden of housing costs on new builds which are unnecessarily expensive, it's a bandaid solution that doesn't address the commodification of housing

Its not a silver bullet solution, but wages not keeping up with inflation & the cost of living has resulted in housing being more unaffordable for those that make the least. When the economy skews in the favor of those that have the most, the cost of everything goes up, like housing

She's going to use her power to slow, delay & kill everything Mamdani tries to initiate. She's going to be a tool to limit what Mamdani can accomplish so Establishment Dems can say "See these Progressives can't govern" Brandon Johnson in the Chi is experiencing the same thing
