Often times without malicious intent, the press is biased *toward* Trump.

As long as "re-election / maintaining relevance" and "avoiding Trump's ire" remain their top priorities, that moment will never come.

If you do decide on a Mac Studio, I recommend upgrading the RAM to at least 36gb because, if you don't have enough RAM at a given time point, macos will start using SDD storage as RAM and this will cause your SDD to wear out prematurely. I can tangibly feel SDD degradation on my MacBook Pro.

D has Italian, Indian, and most of all East Asian cuisine so it's definitely appealing.

Just focusing on tariffs, for instance, you could make conservative-coded arguments like:

"Trump is intervening in the economy in illegal ways, creating winners and losers in an effort to bring the economy under his direct control, and it's making eggs cost more money."

I still think there is a case that has to be made in terms of tangible conditions, because it's clear that voters have been conditioned to overlook a lot of things over the past ten years, but to suggest that you cannot damage Trump by attacking his clumsy and destructive authoritarianism is wrong.

"Voters like pols who fight, even if performatively" would be one explanation.

"It would be unwise to try to ride the feral, bloodthirsty Tiger that killed my enemy. Instead, we should whisper encouraging words into the Tigers ear until it gradually becomes a horse."

Benching that much by that deadline is actually a very realistic goal!

That's exactly why mercurial and haphazard policy choices are part of the larger con, actually.

Until I was 22 years old I thought pickles were made with a special variety of cucumber that had no other culinary uses.

I think the public is more shortsighted than you suspect.

"Learn from Biden's mistakes, retool and repackage policies that worked, and hammer a historically unpopular and corrupt Trump" would be going on the offensive, and seemingly easier.
May 15, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Complete disavowal would be tantamount to saying that the stock market gains, economic growth, etc. were all illusory and had nothing to do with Biden, whereas the affordability crisis experienced around the world is all Biden's fault.

I am not sure and political party would go that route.
May 15, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Biden remaining in the race was moreso a failure of political maneuvering rather than major economic/foreign policy blunders, so perhaps that should influence the nature and the degree of the reckoning?

American voters have been asleep at the wheel of their government for decades.

Given that these tariffs have no legal basis and most representatives oppose them, it looks like markets did not accurately price in the institutional rot taking place in the heart of America's democracy.
