Sherman: "Well, Grant, we’ve had the devil’s own day, haven’t we.”

Grant: “Yes. Lick ‘em tomorrow, though.”
As has been well documented and litigated, Greenland should be aware that Trump does not concern himself with matters of "consent."

Trump: The Art of the Dementia

Let them fight!

I missed the part where endorsing Democratic candidates engaged in public corruption is helpful in creating meaningful messaging contrasts with the Trump administration.

The next Democratic president finds a way to strip the Trump family of their ill-gotten emoluments or we don't have a country anymore.
May 5, 2025 at 11:33 AM
There is no life event or business venture that Trump engaged in with a sense of responsibility to "get things right" or a fear of accountability when "things go wrong," so *of course* he will start a devastating trade war based on bogus ideological commitments.

The failure of the modern Republican party to police its members, manage expectations among its base, or offer *any* policy solutions to America's problems will be studied for generations to come.
April 3, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Trump has never faced negative consequences for his stupidity or immorality, so why would people think he would shy away from implementing this only long-held policy view when surrounded by complete toadies?

Is there some kind of financial instrument that would allow me to profit from the World's richest man becoming the World's second richest man in a given timeframe?
March 10, 2025 at 4:49 AM
At this point, Democrats would *like* Trump's administration to be all chaos and no illegality/unconstitutionality because they believe that's how they won in 2020, the impeachments and trials "failed," and the consultant class is more comfortable maneuvering there.

This is all a grave mistake.
March 8, 2025 at 11:36 PM
It should never be considered normal that POTUS inhabitants a fantasy world of grievance and delusion.

The level brazen, persistent dishonesty Trump exhibits in nearly every utterance rises to the level of impeachable offense on its own.
March 5, 2025 at 3:11 AM
Trump once again demonstrates that a person with no redeemable qualities is not fit for the position of... *checks notes* ...most powerful person in the World.
March 4, 2025 at 4:41 AM
The frustrating part about all this is that he should be in prison, not destroying the foundations of modern society he has exploited his entire life.
March 4, 2025 at 1:06 AM
Of course this isn't the only angle of analysis re: Ukraine-Russia, but: Vietnam could not, on paper, defeat America.
March 3, 2025 at 10:59 AM
It would likely be considered good politics and good policy that, by the time 2029 rolls around, the next Democratic president proposes making up for lost time by doubling the USAID budget from whatever value it was set at in 2024.
February 28, 2025 at 3:55 AM
The reasons why Trump has contempt for Ukraine/Zelensky are pretty obvious.

Among them: Trump still feels persecuted over the Russian collusion matter, etc., and this 'complex' has lead to a years-long, clumsy campaign of trying to re-shape American impressions of Russia after the fact.
February 21, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Hard truth: The degree to which nearly all of the harms caused by the Trump administration so far were entirely predictable based on a mere passing engagement with Trump's character and the content of his own campaign tells you that "but my eggs" voters were engaged in dereliction of civic duty.

Move fast and break things.

But the things they're breaking are the safety nets that allowed them to be so reckless in their non-governmental ventures.

Leave it to the man who bankrupted a casino to expend all of their political capital on deliberately causing a recession.
February 2, 2025 at 6:55 AM
A plethora of impeachable offenses have already been committed, and we're only in the first few weeks.

For Democrats, taking time to decipher the 'lessons of the 2024' election is not worth sitting on your hands; there is a spoil of riches laid at your feet.
February 1, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Since Trump's has revealed his conception of justice to be "bash in skulls for me and get out of jail free," then it seems that Democratic party members unanimously opposing all of his judicial nominees is both good policy *and* good politics.
January 22, 2025 at 3:03 AM
It's perfectly normal to feel sad that the best country on Earth is being run by some of the worst people it has to offer.

The important thing is not to let that sadness become an impediment to action.
January 20, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Popular vote be damned, Trump's conduct during the aftermath of the 2020 election means it will always remain a constitutional crisis for him to serve any federal role other than "inmate."
January 20, 2025 at 7:12 AM
If part of Trump's lasting and resilient appeal is the (false) view that he is independently wealthy and therefore incorruptible, then it seems pretty obvious to me that Democrats could make hay out of the fact that he created a self-themed financial instrument just days before becoming President.
January 19, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Democrats need not become accomplices to maladministration.

The value of an opposition party is making the case to the American people that the party in power is not providing value to civic life or material conditions.

Resist everything on the merits. They will have plenty of ammunition.
