All of my conversations with people I know moved to group chats (primarily Signal). Bluesky has been a decent replacement for public conversations and interacting with people I don't know (or at least not as well) but share common interests.

Yeah it's a brutal stretch. That's the time they'll need in March to replace the turf with grass ahead of the World Cup.

I don't know what it is with Ms. Rachel but our daughter turns into a zombie when watching, no turning the head, no blinking 😅 even during Bluey and her other favorite shows, at least she talks to us once in a while!

The betweens seem to follow the direction of the wind, so if they like their City Council seats and want to keep them in two years, I suspect we'll see them side way more often with progressives than in the past two years. One can hope at least!

Yep. It wasn't used much either because... well, there wasn't much to rally about unfortunately. Not sure where you are located but happy to give you our extra towel.

Everything I'm seeing (and hearing from my wife who lived in SF while he was Mayor) is that Gavin is a good member of the opposition but a pretty bad elected official. I fear that many people will value the former over the latter at the ballot box, and I wish we had more people who are good at both.

We have two and I don't think my wife will let me keep more than one 😅 I think we may also have one extra from the ALDS.

That it's only +7 in the NYT poll, and +17 in the best poll, shows how well oiled the propaganda machine is. It should be +50! They control the entire government! They are abusing their power left and right!

Yes... and it takes two to tango, so we can also "thank" the Bartell family for selling it to what was already a failing company at the time (while acknowledging that PBMs have made it difficult for independent drugstores to be successful).

Thank goodness all these elections (Germany, Canada, Australia) happened *after* the inauguration. Had the order been reversed, most of the West would have right/far-right governments by now 😬
