update for any #7drl folks who are using this:
i am still working to figure out what's useful for people's projects, but i've provisionally added a monochrome version with a single fixed palette to make it easier to do your own palettes or set up for indexed color.

Out of dinner ideas so made the most Midwest dish I could think of for dinner: take on tater tot casserole (no cream of mushroom and waffle fries instead). Ground beef, onion/mushroom gravy underneath. Crispy fries on top. Nom.
