It's quite literally not - the latest data from the market leader analyst on crypto crime suggests that just 0.14% of payments are illicit. Primary use case is on the main entirely lawful.

We've been working with investigative journalist L0la L33tz to request information from the National Crime Agency - about its outlandish claims on the risks E2EE and cryptocurrency pose (copy of our request in thread).

In the least surprising news of the year, they have failed to respond in time.

In terms of what I've read so far, no. If you read the text of the Bitcoin law, Article 1 creates the 'unrestricted legal tender' status. The IMF have long hated the law, and El Salvador gave ground on Article 7, which made acceptance mandatory (which has never in practice been followed).

Some traction (of a kind) in the UK parliament on the question of a Bitcoin strategic reserve - following our work below we are now seeing interested Peers asking pertinent questions relating to Bitcoin.

Sadly it looks at though the UK remains keen to stay in the dark ages as the US leads.

That same brass plate is with me now, nearly forty years later, and on the wall in my house.

I hope that Syria's future is as bright as this remains.

For me, this is fundamentally why. It lets activists and freedom fighters continue their work even when authoritarian governments shut down their bank accounts and deny them access to the financial system.

Not that this anti- #Bitcoin campaign was at all effective in any meaningful way, but this is still good news.

Facts matter. The truth matters. And the Change the Code campaign relied on neither.
