On July 13, 1985, I was in a trailer at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia writing the script for ABC-TV’s three-hour prime-time coverage of Live Aid, hosted by Dick Clark. It was my first prime-time writing assignment. Thank you, Larry Klein, for telling me I had to say “yes.”

For the second year in a row, I interviewed Jelly Roll about his participation in American Idol, this time as artist in residence. He loves being on Idol and I love interviewing him.

My favorite song at #Eurovision 1999 was "All Out Of Luck" by Selma from #Iceland. Years later, she and & her sister took me to the Blue Lagoon, then we had dinner with another one of my Icelandic favorites, Páll Óskar.

Third & final #Eurovision post tonight. In 1996 I met Anna Mjöll from Iceland at the contest in Oslo and discovered we were neighbors in Southern California! Been friends ever since. Here we are at lunch in Palm Springs with her mother.

More #Eurovision! In 2000, in Stockholm, I flew on the wings of love. I was certain the Olsen Brothers from #Denmark were going to win and I'm not always right -- but this time I was.

Speaking of #Eurovision, I was a judge at the #Malta final in February 1998 and we all agreed Chiara was the artist who should represent the country in May. Here we are at #ESC in Birmingham.

One of my highlights of 2024 was taking David Archuleta to see Carrie Underwood's "Reflection" residency in Las Vegas. We had the best time! @carrleunderwood.bsky.social @davidarchuleta.bsky.social

Love the photo. Thought I would reply with one of my own, from the early '70s. Left to right: me, John Trimble, Nichelle, and, in costume, Janos Prohaska, whose Star Trek roles included the Horta and the Mugato. Mayor Sam Yorty had proclaimed it Science Fiction and Fantasy Film Week in Los Angeles.

Everyone on Earth should see ABBA's Voyage show in London at least once. And then go back! Here's the view from the Pudding Mill Station, across the street from the #ABBA Arena.
