Still all the things I was over at the Other Place. And still angry.

Preoccupations: politics, education, disability and inclusive feminism. Cishet trans ally. Widow. Socialist. She/her.
And that was including dumping people on Incapacity Benefit to keep the numbers down.

But people now "just don't want to work"

Personally, I think the only explanation for the popularity of Matt is that his very average cartoons are on the front page.

From Thatcher (who didn't have a cultural bone in her body) onwards, public sector broadcasting has been under continual attack. You only have to look at some of the philistines who've been appointed to DCMS over the years. Bean-counting dullards at best.

Over the years there were countless of examples of the BBC cravenly following the governing parties agenda - but there were also some really powerful documentaries and exposes of private medicine, now and again, & some pro NHS stuff too. And I guess that's what the oligarch class wants to stop.

But of course, sadly, it's the same management consultancy/lobbyist/clubbable insider class, who prescribed these failed nostrums of market competition, who then get to write the reports about how they're not working & how the answer is *more market competition*...

In many ways what was done to the BBC, from the days of Birtism, was then done to the NHS. The failed free market mantras of supposedly 'lean' working & outsourcing, resulting in a loss of professionalism & creativity & its replacement with sprawling management bureauracy & massive *inefficiencies*.

And right there is how we got here - the people that hate trans people *really* hate us and most of the people around them that don't, just don't think it's that big of a deal.

No, you're a fair driver. I've very good at letting people in to queues - unless I see they've jumped.

I now assume everyone at the Graun is trans-hostile. It saves time.

I am so fucking sick of it.
