Heading up the Keweenaw was well worth the day trip. Just gorgeous!

Had such an amazing time in Marquette this week. Happy that there was still some fall color and we had beautiful weather the whole time. Lots of great hiking and beer and vegan options!

Hard to believe we were still mowing this part of the yard a little over a year ago! Just planted another 100+ native plugs among the shrubs we planted last year. All plugs were grown from collected seed from the front #NativeGarden 🌱

Early fall update on the new juniper #bonsai. Still no additional work done, but it might be developing a new front (photo 2)! Will be getting a pot at part two of the bonsai workshop next week.

Waited too long to harvest the cabbage, so ended up with waaaay too much cabbage. Grilled it, braised it, krauted it, and roasted it. Nice little self inflicted #vegan ingredient challenge 🥬

Pollinators aplenty! First time noticing snowberry clearwing (“flying lobster”) moth and clubbed mydas fly in the garden #bloomscrolling
Snowberry clearwing moth (Hemaris diffinis) on a purpletop vervain flower (Verbena bonariensis) which is not native to the Great Lakes but butterflies and moths seem to love it. Clubbed mydas fly (Mydas clavatus) on a slender mountain mint flower (Pycnanthemum tenuifolium). Also pictured are a small blurry bee of some kind and a bumble bee half in frame.
