It’s winter. The community is full of viruses. The hospitals are overfull of sick medical patients. So elective surgeries have been cancelled and theatre staff are caring for your loved ones in overflow. Theatre staff who aren’t really medically trained. Covid taught us nothing.

My anti vax neighbours 2 doors down have all been taken down with the flu. But it’s ok. She’s into that magic water. That will fix them.

South Australia’s algal bloom isn’t random. It’s what happens when we cross #PlanetaryBoundaries—climate, nitrogen, ecosystem collapse.

This is real. It’s economic. It’s now.

Was America ever actually “great?” And if so, what exactly was it that people believe made it so great then?

Went random visiting today. Found some friends who were home and we all had a lovely afternoon.
She said no one just drops in unannounced anymore. Everything is so scheduled.

The past 6 months Ive seen evidence of FOUR scan reports that have MISSED vital information.

1. A CT missed an ovarian cancer
2. A CT missed two renal stones in the ureter
3. A CT missed gallstones in the bile duct
4. An MRI missed a ruptured disc.

Listen to the patient.

Hubby has arthritis and hurt his back 10/10. Had a yearly appt with Rheumatologist 250km drive away. He asked GP for pain relief to get there. No, change appt instead.
So I dosed him on endone (from my cousin) to survive the drive. Had MRI. Big bulging disc.
GP now believes him, wants to see him.

Oh gosh, after hearing the awful news about a house fire where an infant perished, let us all check our smoke alarms are working - and our families have practiced our fire escape route - and understand little children wont wake up to smoke alarms until they’re older.
Condolences to the family.

Why is it that some of us think in words, and hear an internal dialogue and others of us don’t?
I think in words, and my husband doesn’t.
I cant work out how he thinks without words.

Corruption thrives in silence and apathy. Speak out, organize, hold power accountable. True change begins when we unite with courage and demand integrity in every corner of society.

Before I forget, Id like to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas. Its not always a happy day for everyone, it can be painful and lonely.
For those who are just going to get through the day, know you won’t be alone.
For those working, I hope your shift goes smoothly.
Take care of yourselves.

Does anyone know whether there’s a right of appeal against a person who was successful in gaining employment for a position that you know is not yet experienced nor qualified enough to do (because you work with them).
This would be a Govt job in health care.

My Hippy child and its mother. First time they have flowered in about 5 years. I very nearly gave up on them.
I have no idea why they chose this year to bloom but Im glad they did.
