My day job keeps me quite busy so my inverter project is slow-going, but I'm continuing to make progress. Found a way to improve the EMI issues a bit.

Some progress with my second version of the DIY grid tie inverter.

It will not have a raspberrypi anymore. And a nucleo board instead of an onboard STM32. This is because I want to focus on the actual problem I want to solve here. Which is building a GTI, everything else is just toys.

I am starting to think of not caring about the world anymore. Maybe I just grab some popcorn and watch it burn🔥🔥🔥

I just couldn't help it, so I started designing version 2 of my DIY grid tied micro inverter in Kicad. Now trying to better address the EMI issues I have with version 1. Any tips are highly appreciated😅

I've been working on this DIY inverter since almost a year now. Now whats working so far:

* Manually setting an arbitrary DC voltage
* Manually setting an arbitrary AC voltage
* Offgrid mode: setting an arbitrary 50Hz AC voltage that is PID controlled, basically how a 12V to 230V inverter works.

This is my main project for 2025. A DIY micro inverter that should be able to provide 600-800W (not 100% sure at this point) of power. It is based on the STM32G4 as main controller but also has a raspberrypi zero for network connectivity.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks and months!

This is a little project I did last year. A raspberrypi zero-w operating a celduc 3 phase proportional thyristor controller for my water heating rod. The baseboard of the pi acts as a watchdog for the DFR0972, which outputs 4-20mA (0-100%) for the thyristor controller.

After days of debugging, the ATSAMC21 is finally working😩.

Maybe I should switch to Atmel Start instead of using xdk-asf...

12V to 380V😎 can't wait for 2025😊

Happy new year 2025 everyone!

Trying out my new SPI mux/demux driver on a more exotic (at least for me) ATSAMC microcontroller today. Nothing that Black Magic Debug can't handle.

Let’s see how it turns out.

Now that the holiday chaos is over I'm switching back to side-project number 5 😆

The "main" project probably needs to wait a few more months.😅

Looks quite improvised, I know. But still is going to be so cool 😊

Built this little DC motor controller as a Christmas gift for my son powered by the good old ATmega8 I had laying around.

Paired with a few 5s LiPos it will give his boring little electric toy car a nice boost😜

Christmas Day might be the perfect excuse to finally tidy up my desk😅

Oh, OpenWrt, you are my favorite Linux-based operating system!

And it's also a perfect fit for the raspberrypi.😉
