Like many other megalomaniacs, Trump sees religion as a puncture proof political tire. Faith, not the facts and reason of democracy are preferred by con artists world wide. His problem is that religion in the US is not monolithic. Whichever sect he chooses to favor will irk all of the others.

So where is SCOTUS on this issue? AWOL? MIA?

The value of this person's testimony on any topic, but especially with regard to Trump, the czar of pardons, is as close to zero as possible. It may even be zero.

In my humble opinion, Republicans have, once again, gotten the cart before the horse. The fact is that there is no easy way for most Americans to "prove" their citizenship under the proposed SAVE Act rules. Not even my Florida "Real ID" driver’s license will do. Looks like a bushwhacking to me.

What mind blowing irony! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black with soot. If Bondi is the pot then the kettle is shiney clean in comparison.

According to CNN, Trump "sees terrorism all over the place. This is inaccurate. The truth is that Trump PROJECTS terrorism all over the place.

If this actually comes to pass, would it not be reasonable to expect that citizens too would be expected to pass a social media filter in order to retain citizenship and residency? Look not where the ball is but where it's going to be.

But where is Alex Pretti's phone and what audio and video is on it? Rather amazed that I haven't seen mention of that by now.

A quick look at TicTok's new owners is revealing, especially Oracle which is owned by Trump fan Larry Ellison.

Sounds a lot like the discussions and decisions voiced at the House of the Wansee Conference 20 January 1942. Conducting genocide in a more business like manner was the organizing concept.

As you look at the line of presidential succession, it should be clear that impeaching the president and his successors will not be of much help. The people who we most need to impeach are his cabinet members and staff starting with Noem and Miller. Without them Trump is a political eunuch.

It's being reported that ICE is making heavy use of hand-held smart phones with facial recognition software. How long will it be before what was foreseen in the Terminator movies is a reality on our streets?

Does impeachment offer us any respite? Look at the order of presidential succession to form your opinion:

Given the order of presidential succession, it looks like we will need more than one or two impeachments in a row:

Lest there be any confusion about whether all Republicans should be opposed and dethroned everywhere possible, we take note that they all eventuall fold. They are all at least tacitly complicit. The only solution is to vote against all Republicans at every opportunity and at all levels.

Not only is the release of the Epstein files now in violation of the letter of the law, the extent of redactions violate the spirit of that law. DOJ cannot be trusted so a Special Master should and must be appointed to moderate the release of all Epstein files, including recordings & metadata.

According to Trump, the US will take Venezuelan oil and sell it at market prices. Those revenues will go into offshore accounts and be controlled exclusively by Trump himself, neutering a key function of Congress, Power of the Purse (Article 1, Section 9, US Constitution).

Question: Do we have any clarity on whether state and/or local authorities can arrest, try and potentially convict a federal operative who has apparently murdered a citizen in that state/local jurisdiction? I don't see the MSM taking up this question yet. Anyone want to respond authoritatively?

Donald Trump is now the dog that caught the car. So now what? Actually, he caught 26 million cars.

Chief Justice John Roberts' annual report and current discussion of the "shadow docket" prompted me to wonder whether there is any difference between religious leaders interpreting their sacred texts and SCOTUS interpreting the US Constitution. If no, shouldn't there be a difference? Religion uses:

Rather than look to ancient documents to figure out what one ought to do, why not try being more self-directed than other-directed by pursuing the field of moral reasoning.

Based on this image we can tell that hard disk drives were part of what was collected in the Epstein case. I don't imagine that the DOJ will share the actual hardware and therein lies what could be a serious problem. Deleted files can sometimes be recovered. Will the DOJ treat them as nonexistant?
