Engineer going through a prolonged iOS phase.
It’s R290. Which means North American code writers have are going to need another half dozen years to “research” if it’s safe to have a few ounces of propane in an outdoor unit that could conceivably leak, which of course never happens with propane in your house that you burn on purpose.

California drivers are fine but IME in Southern California when it rains is like here when it snows (to be fair, a mix of both driver unfamiliarity and infrastructure that's designed for like the 95 percentile of bad weather).

They don't sound like a terrible idea on the surface, but some of our best-loved neighborhoods would have been illegal to build if parking mandates had been in place in e.g. early 20th century or before.

A parking mandate requires a certain (arbitrary, often large) number of off-street parking spots when building housing or commercial buildings (even bars!). Repealing them lets developers build only as many spots as they think they need and lets small urban locations work for more projects.

Although my hunch is that society-wide there is lower-hanging fruit than renewable diesel at an extra $100 ton of avoided emissions.

It’s the 70s oil embargo but we’re doing it to ourselves.
