I got onto an elevator with the legendary screenwriter Robert Towne. On the way down the elevator opened on a random floor but no one got on. I made some kind of joke about it and he chuckled. The next morning I saw him in the hotel restaurant at a table with Donald Sutherland.

Although I loved Oppenheimer, my favorite cinematic experience of the year was the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary dome show. It blew my damn socks off. Seek it out at a planetarium near you. Here’s a trailer:
