At AARES conference this week, we're convening a special session on Market Reform and Policy to Transition Australia's Electricity Grid.

Yesterday we contributed at a pre-conference workshop on energy transition, hosted by CSIRO.

IPCC 7th Assessement Report cycle "scoping meeting" this week in KL. Am here as an expert for IPCC Working Group III - with ANU colleagues Nerilie Abram and Nicola Maher (WGI), and Mark Howden (a vice-chair WGII), and other Australian experts.

The latest Economic Society of Australia poll of economists is out, on the effects of Trump.
My comments summarized: "Yes it's a chill factor for climate policy but it won't be a decisive change for climate; other dangers from Trump are the greater concerns."
