Retired so I have time for my garden, books, art galleries, travel and anything food related. Living between central France and northern England, best of both worlds.

IVe just finished Unsheltered by Barbara Kingsolver. Highly recommend. Now on to The Women by Kristin Hannah. Looking forward to this one.

I’ve just started All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker. Just wow! Won’t take me long to read this one, gripping, moving and so beautifully written. My TBR pile is growing, enough to last me another few months at least.

I was gifted a rose, a namesake for my daughter who died in 2020. Rachel rose is doing very well and it’s so lovely to have the connection.

I’m opening #bluesky 1st in the mornings, gradually weaning myself off the other one. No withdrawal symptoms yet, opposite in fact. Joy at finding so many gardening, book and art lovers on here. Plus journalists who can really call themselves that. Some garden spam, beautiful hibiscus this summer ☀️
