Traditionally, we have been told that some alcohol consumption is okay. Current studies demonstrate that all alcohol is poisonous and that the only amount of alcohol that is not harmful is zero.
A lot of people are rethinking alcohol after the holidays.
Quick check-in: according to Canada’s alcohol guidelines, what’s considered low-risk drinking?

A) 7+ drinks per week
B) 2 drinks per week or less
C) 5 drinks per day

(No need to memorize this — the guidelines are below if you’re curious.)

Starbucks is closing stores and cutting 900 jobs in a restructuring move.

1,100 jobs were slashed earlier this year.

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

I was thinking about the political situation of the world and how it seems like things always get worse with time, but there is evidence to the contrary: while it might take a long time, #Democracy, #Freedom, #Love and other values tend to become the norm after some time. Here is to hoping!
